Pammel Park Campground
Pammel Park is located just down the street from our dealership and includes 43 parking sites with RV power outlets. The campground also includes a convenient dumping station, a restroom building with showers, as well as nearby playgrounds for the entire family. The parking sites overlook the Winnebago River with a view of Bear Creek Golf Course. The nearby Clarks Woods Park is only a swinging bridge away and includes a shelter house available for reservations with a restroom, electricity, and additional playground area and picnic tables. Here you will also find the Forest City Disc Golf Course.
Three Fingers Campground
Three Fingers Campground is only ten minutes outside of Forest City with over 100 seasonal campsites including full hookup, 50-amp sites and cement pull thru pads. Amenities include a shower house, beach access, basketball court, volleyball court and kayaks and paddleboats are also available. The location includes a community garden space as well as a flock of feathered friends to enjoy seasonally featuring turkeys, chickens and ducks.
Pilot Knob State Park
Pilot Knob State Park is one of the earliest locations dedicated into the state park system and features sweeping vistas and unique ecological areas. The park’s centerpiece is the observation tower which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park is only 6 minutes away from the dealership. The campground includes multiple pull-thru sites with 30-amp hookups as well as one 50-amp site. For convenience the campground also includes shelter houses for reservation, restrooms with showers, and a dump station. Activities and amenities include numerous hiking trails, an amphitheater, fishing on the 15-acre lake, horseshoe pits and more!
Thorpe Park
Thorpe Park is approximately 15 minutes from the dealership and provides a scenic overlook of Lake Catherine. The campground includes 13 electric hookup sites as well as two non-electric sites. The park is home to the Winnebago County Conservation Board and offers many activities, including boating and fishing on the 15-acre lake as well as hiking trails and prairie areas.
Cozy Corner Campground & RV Park
Cozy Corner Campground is a family-owned campground situated right next to Crystal Lake, IA in the city of the same name, only 15-minutes from Lichtsinn RV. This RV park has 37 RV sites as well as numerous amenities including boat access, fishing jetties, picnic tables, beach areas along the lake, and more. Also, while you’re visiting, make sure you check out the statue of the world’s largest Bullhead!
Clear Lake State Park
Only 30 minutes from Lichtsinn RV, Clear Lake, Iowa offers a small-town, welcoming atmosphere along with large-town attractions and features. Clear Lake is a summer destination for many with a large lake and numerous town celebrations. Clear Lake is also home to one of the most popular campgrounds in the Iowa state park system, Clear Lake State Park. The 55-acre RV park includes over 100 sites with both pull-thru and back in options, as well as both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical hookups. For recreation, the park is directly adjacent to Clear Lake State Beach which offers a 900-foot sandy beach for swimming and sunbathing. The lake also offers great fishing throughout the year and boaters can enjoy sailing and sightseeing. While in town, be sure to visit the legendary Surf Ballroom, the site of many performances and the last performance of Buddy Holly, shop the antique stores and boutiques or enjoy a bike ride around the lake.
Oakwood RV Park
Located on the southeast side of Clear Lake, IA, Oakwood RV Park is open from April to October (dates vary) and offers both pull-thru or back in sites, both of which include full electrical hookups, water, a dump station and access to free wi-fi. The location also has an on-site bath house and laundry facility for your convenience. Due to its location, you are also able to enjoy the attractions available in Clear Lake including lake time, walks through downtown or bike rides around the lake.
MacNider Campgrounds
About 40 minutes away from Lichtsinn RV, in Mason City, IA, is MacNider Campgrounds, recently named as one of the top municipal campgrounds in Iowa. Located just across the Winnebago River, the campground is only a few steps away from the Aquatic Center. The campground includes 20 full hookups with water, sewer and electrical as well as 55 sites for water and electrical only. On site is the MacNider Safe Room which is an all-weather storm shelter that includes many amenities such as showers, restrooms, changing areas, laundry facilities, a generator and more. It also features a picnic shelter area with accessible picnic tables and barbeque grills. Mason City offers numerous attractions including shopping, bike trails, canoeing and kayaking, golf, Music Man Square and more.
