As the top Winnebago dealer in the country, focusing solely on Winnebago motorhomes, we receive a number of questions regarding Winnebago RVs. A common question we receive is “What is the difference between the Winnebago Solis and the Winnebago Revel?”
Both the Solis and the Revel are compact Class B Campervans, but beyond that there are not a lot of similarities in these two Class B RVs. Below we will review additional key differences in the Winnebago Solis and the Winnebago Revel focusing on the Chassis, Exterior, Floorplans, Bath, the Electrical System and Heating and Cooling in each. The Solis 59P and 59PX are similar, while the Solis Pocket has a number of differences. So, for review purposes the Winnebago Solis 59P and 59PX will be grouped together and the Winnebago Solis Pocket will be separated.
CHASSIS
SOLIS 59P | SOLIS 59PX: The 59P and 59PX are built on the Ram ProMaster Chassis and achieve between 18-22 MPG. The Solis 59P and 59PX have 4-wheel ABS brakes. The RAM ProMaster Chassis is equipped with safety features including: Crosswind Assist, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking System and Post Collision Braking. In the cab area of the 59P and 59PX you’ll find a 7” touch-screen radio/rearview monitor system with a color rear camera.
SOLIS POCKET: The Pocket is also built on the Ram ProMaster Chassis and achieves between 18-22 MPG and has 4-wheel ABS brakes. The RAM ProMaster safety features in the Pocket include Crosswind Assist, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking System, and Post Collision Braking. In the cab area of the Pocket you’ll also find a 7” touch screen radio/rearview monitor system and a digital rearview mirror.
REVEL: The Winnebago Revel is built on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter Diesel VS30 Chassis and achieves between 18-22 MPG. It has a 3.0L 6-cylinder 188-hp turbo-diesel engine with a 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. It has on-demand 4WD with Hi/Lo range and electronic stability and traction control. You have the option of adding performance wheels with BF Goodrich T/A KO2 all-terrain tires to your Revel. The Mercedes Benz Chassis is equipped with a number of safety features including: a Rain Sensor with Integrated Wet Wiper System, High Beam Assist, Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Traffic Sign Assist. In the cab area of the Revel you’ll find a 10” MBUX touchscreen multimedia infotainment center with intelligent voice control and a rear camera.
EXTERIOR
SOLIS 59P | SOLIS 59PX: The first thing you may notice on the outside of the Winnebago Solis 59P and 59PX is the Pop-top loft sleeping area with the FROLI sleep system. You do have the option of removing this feature. The 59P and 59PX include a large side sliding door and dual rear entry doors. Each of these doors are equipped with screen doors to let in the airflow but not the insects. The 59P and 59PX also feature a rear annex which includes a rod and privacy screen. In the rear of the 59PX you will also find a gear space with L-Track Cargo Tie Down System.
SOLIS POCKET: The Pocket includes a large side sliding door and dual rear entry doors. Each of these doors are equipped with screen doors to let in the airflow but not the insects. Enjoy the outdoors while sitting at the exterior fold-down table found on the Pocket. The Pocket also features a rear annex which includes a rod and privacy screen.
REVEL: When you first approach the Revel you’ll notice its 10’ powered patio awning with LED lighting that can be Bluetooth controlled. The Revel includes generously sized running boards with ground effect lighting and rear mud guards to keep the dirt at bay. The Revel has a movable exterior ladder that can be locked into place to prevent theft. The ladder allows you to easily access the Revel’s luggage rack from many angles. The exterior table on the Revel has an adjustable L-Track Table Mount, allowing you to adjust the table to ensure it is level.
In addition to the standard driver and passenger entry doors, there is a sliding side entry door and dual rear entry doors in the Revel. The dual rear entry doors on the Revel include a screen door with blackout panel. The side door on the Revel includes a screen door with magnetic closure system.
FLOORPLANS
SOLIS 59P | SOLIS 59PX: The Winnebago Solis 59P measures 19’9” in length while the Winnebago Solis 59PX is slightly longer measuring 21” in length each with a 159” wheelbase. Each floorplan sleeps up to 4 people with the pop-top loft sleeping area. Once you step inside the 59P or 59PX you will first see the dinette with the removable pedestal table and seating for (2) and 3-point safety belts. The cab seats in the Solis 59P and 59PX can be swiveled to become part of the dining area as well. The Solis has heavy duty vinyl flooring throughout that can be easily cleaned. The 59P and 59PX include zippered window coverings to help keep the outside temperatures at bay.
The Galley of the 59P and 59PX includes laminate countertops, a pull-out countertop extension, 2-burner range cooktop, stainless steel sink, spice rack and a 3.0 cu. ft. (12V) single door compressor-driven refrigerator/freezer.
In the rear of the 59P and 59PX you’ll find a 59”x77” Murphy+ Bed that can be raised during daytime hours to make access to the movable table affixed below the bed when stored. Below the Murphy+ Bed you can easily access the below floor storage underneath it. In the 59P floorplan you may choose a Sofa Bed instead of the Murphy+ Bed which includes (2) 3-point seat belts.
SOLIS POCKET: The Winnebago Solis Pocket measures just 17’10” in length with a 136” wheelbase. The Pocket can sleep to 2-3 people, dependant on floorplan, when the flexible dinette is lowered to the dual sleeping mode. Once you step inside the Pocket you will first notice this dinette. In the 36A floorplan the dinette has two facing seats in its standard position, a removable/adjustable table and (1) 3-point seatbelt. This flexible dinette can be adjusted into 5 modes including: Dinette Mode, Settee Loveseat Mode, Daybed Mode with Table, Sofa Mode with Table and Sleeping Mode. In the 36B floorplan the standard dinette position is a 2-person dinette. This can be converted into a 4-person dinette mode, twin bed mode, double bed mode, belt mode, sofa mode or lounge mode. The Pocket also includes heavy duty vinyl flooring throughout and zippered window coverings.
The Galley of the Pocket includes laminate countertops, 2-burner range cooktop, stainless steel sink and a 3.0 cu. ft. (12V) single door compressor-driven refrigerator/freezer.
In the rear of the Pocket 36A you’ll find a 52”x75” Murphy+ Bed that can be raised during the daytime. Below the Murphy+ Bed you can easily access the gear space with the L-Track Cargo Tie Down System. The Pocket 36A features a multi-use counter space that can be used as a counter when the bed is raised and becomes part of the bed base when the Murphy+ Bed is lowered for sleeping. A MOLLE panel retention gate can be closed to separate the front from the back of the coach. In the rear of the Pocket 36B you’ll find the Wet Bath which we will discuss in more detail later.
REVEL: The Revel is available in 1 floorplan, the Winnebago Revel 44E. This floorplan measures 19’7” in length and can sleep up to 2 people. The wheelbase on the Revel measures 144”. Once you step inside the Revel you’ll be greeted by the bench seat with removable pedestal table. The cab seats in the Revel can be swiveled to become part of the main seating area as well. The Revel has heavy duty vinyl non-slip flooring throughout making for easy cleanup. The flooring is placed over insulated vapor barrier plasticore flooring to provide a thermal barrier. The RAM Tough-Track mounts found throughout the Revel allow you to ensure your devices are safely mounted for easy viewing. The Revel has tinted dual-pane euro acrylic windows with cassette shades that act as a thermal barrier from the exterior elements reducing heating and cooling loss as well as providing privacy.
In the Galley of the Revel you’ll find laminate countertops, a portable single burner induction range top, removable countertop extension, a stainless steel sink, a pantry and a 3.0 cu. ft. (12V) compressor-driven refrigerator and freezer that can be accessed from inside or outside the coach.
In the rear of the Revel you’ll find the Gear Garage that can be accessed from inside the coach or through the dual rear entry doors. The Gear Garage area includes a 49”x79” Power Lift Bed with molded pockets and zippered storage below. The bed can be raised during the day to secure larger items. Once the bed is lowered at night you can still access the storage area below. On the floor of the Gear Garage are six removable cargo tie-down anchors to secure your gear.
BATH
SOLIS 59P | SOLIS 59PX: The 59P and 59PX each include a 31”x24” shower surround Wet Bath. The Wet Bath is equipped with a removable clothes rod, shower curtain and swiveling cassette toilet.
SOLIS POCKET: The Pocket 36A does not have a bathroom, but instead has a portable toilet that may be stored under the dinette. The Pocket 36B has a Wet Bath that measures 25″x34″ in size. The Wet Bath includes a flexible shower head, shower curtain, removable cassette toilet, powered roof vent and a bathroom sink. You’ll also find wardrobe storage in this area.
REVEL: The Revel includes an All-in-One Gear Closet and Wet Bath. The shower wall with wall surround measures 31”x26” and includes 2 bamboo shelves for storage that can easily be removed. The bath area of the Revel includes a shower curtain, a removable clothes rod and a swiveling cassette toilet.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM (POWER)
SOLIS 59P | SOLIS 59PX: The 59P and 59PX include (2) deep-cycle Group 31 batteries (AGM maintenance-free) and the 59PX also includes the Cummins Onan QG 2800i gas generator. 59P and 59PX floorplans that include the pop-top have a 220-watt flexible surface solar panel. However, if there is no pop-top, they instead have a 170-watt solar panel.
SOLIS POCKET : The Pocket also includes (2) deep-cycle Group 31 batteries (AGM maintenance-free.) The Pocket 36A includes a 170-watt solar panel and the 36B a 190-watt solar panel. You may also choose to add the Winnebago +EcoFlow Power Kit Pro to the 36B which includes a 5,000-watt lithium battery coupled with a 5-in-1 power management controller.
REVEL: To power the Revel is a 320-amp-hour lithium-ion battery and a 2nd dedicated alternator to charge the system. The lithium battery is stored inside the driver side wheel well so it maintains the temperature that is inside the coach. The Revel has a Smart Battery Management System (BMS) to control high and low temperatures. The Revel is equipped with 215-watts of solar power and the solar controller can handle up to 450-watts. The Revel includes a 2,000-watt inverter/charger to provide whole coach electrical service and roof port wiring access to easily feed wiring up to the roof of the Revel.
HEATING AND COOLING
SOLIS 59P | SOLIS 59PX: The Winnebago Solis 59P and 59PX include the Truma Combi Eco heating and hot water continuous on demand water system. The 59PX includes the Coleman-Mach 10 NDQ (non-ducted, quiet, high-efficiency) air conditioning system. If you do not add the pop-top option on the 59P you may select the 13,500 BTU air conditioner on that floorplan as well.
SOLIS POCKET: The Solis Pocket 36A includes the Truma VarioHeat 90% energy efficient furnace, with silent operation and intelligent fan control which is Truma Gold Star Certified for all season camping. The Solis Pocket 36B has the Truma Combi Eco Heating System which features a furnace and water heater all in one appliance. For cooling the Pocket has a 13,500 BTU air conditioner.
REVEL: To heat the Revel you have the hydronic heating system with an LED touchscreen panel. Standard in the Revel is a powered roof vent. This vent is removed if you instead opt for the Coleman-Mach 10 NDQ Air Conditioner with a built-in thermostat that can be Bluetooth controlled.
