RAGBRAI, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Across Iowa, is a well-known, eight-day recreational festival of bicycles, food, music, community and more. It is the oldest, largest and longest multi-day bicycle touring event in the world, now reaching its 51st ride across the state. RAGBRAI July 20th – 27th, 2024
Each year, multiple cities are chosen across Iowa to host overnight stays for the 500-mile ride which runs from west to east across the state of Iowa. This year, the event starts in Glenwood with the annual RAGBRAI Expo at Tyson’s Event Center and ends in Burlington. The other overnight cities include the following:
- Sunday, July 21 – Glenwood
- Monday, July 22 – Red Oak
- Tuesday, July 23 – Atlantic
- Wednesday, July 24 – Winterset
- Thursday, July 25 – Knoxville
- Friday, July 26 – Ottumwa
- Saturday, July 27 – Mt. Pleasant
- Sunday, July 28 – Burlington
Three registration types are offered including weeklong rider, weeklong non-rider and day pass options. Registration includes many opportunities including access to live entertainment each night, provisions for camping locations, access and discounts at food vendors, bicycle repairs shows and merchandise, baggage transport between overnight communities, and more.
Each year, the event also features the RAGBRAI LI Concert Series which features top national and local bands. The concerts are all free and open to the public, but you can also upgrade your concert experience with a VIP ticket.
