The All-Electric Class B Camper Van, the Winnebago Roam is designed for maximum flexibility and ease and delivers unparalleled versatility and convenience. Built on the durable RAM ProMaster chassis, the Roam delivers smooth handling, fuel-efficiency, and enhanced safety features, making life on the road easier than ever. The Roam is available as a mobility equipped RV with a wheelchair lift, or an open concept floorplan without the lift.
The Winnebago Roam is available in 2 floorplans, the 59RB and the 59RZ. These floorplans are similar, however the 59RZ measures 21’0” in length while the 59RB is slightly shorter measuring 19’9” in length.
We’ll review the additional similarities and differences in the Roam floorplans below.
WINNEBAGO ROAM WHEELCHAIR LIFT
Each Roam floorplan is available with an under-vehicle BraunAbility UVL Wheelchair lift that measures 47”x31” in size. This lift provides easy access into and out of the Roam while the wheelchair tie-downs allow you to secure the wheelchair and use it as another seat during travel. This lift has a 750 lb. capacity and includes a hand-held control and a wireless remote. For additional accessibility features, if you include the lift you will also have an assist bar located near the sliding door of the lift, an assist/transfer bar in the bathroom, wheelchair tie-downs with (4) Q-Straint attachments and a shoulder belt near the wheelchair tiedowns. You may choose to instead remove the lift which then also removes the bathroom transfer bars, tiedowns, shoulder belt and SuperSprings SumoSprings.
WINNEBAGO ROAM POP-TOP
The Roam 59RZ floorplan provides you the option of adding a Pop-Top sleeping area, measuring 51”x75”, featuring a FROLI sleep system and a ladder to climb up into this area. Adding this feature provides sleeping for up to (4) people. If you do choose the pop-top option in the 59RZ you will not have the standard deluxe powered ventilator fan, but instead will have a roof vent located in the pop-top.
WINNEBAGO ROAM CAB CONVENIENCES
The Winnebago Roam cab area includes numerous safety and convenience features. These include a radio/rearview touchscreen monitor system, steering wheel controls, rear camera, navigation, digital rearview mirror, push button start and USB ports. The Roam also includes numerous RAM ProMaster safety features including: Crosswind Assist, Power Mirrors with Defrost, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking System and Post Collision Braking. The Roam also includes SuperSprings SumoSprings if you get the Wheelchair Lift.
In the cab area of the Roam you will find a custom carpet floor mat and front and cab window privacy panels that provide privacy and room darkening features. You will have a privacy curtain and divider that separates the cab area from the rest of the coach.
WINNEBAGO ROAM INTERIOR
Each of the Roam floorplans includes tinted coach windows with cassette shades that provide a thermal break and room darkening features. Inside the Roam, near the entrance, you will find a pull-down cabinet for easy in-reach access. You will also have (2) soft storage bags for additional storage and easier loading and unloading. Throughout the Roam you will find heavy duty vinyl flooring that will withstand whatever you throw at it.
WINNEBAGO ROAM KITCHEN/GALLEY
The Winnebago Roam is equipped with luxurious Corian countertops and a 3.0 cu. ft. (12V) single door compressor-driven refrigerator and freezer. It also includes a Microwave, stainless-steel sink with a single control faucet and a pull-out countertop extension. There is an outlet for an induction cooktop, making it easy to prepare your favorite foods.
WINNEBAGO ROAM BEDROOM/SEATING AREA
Each Roam floorplan includes a powered reclining sofa/bed that can sleep up to (2) people. The sofa bed in the 59RB measures 51”x67” while the sofa bed in the 59RZ measures 67”x69”. Each sofa/bed includes (2) 3-point seatbelts and has storage below. The 59RZ floorplan also provides gear garage storage behind the sofa. In the seating/sleep area you’ll find a flip-up dinette table with a sliding extension. In this area you will also find the 24” TV.
WINNEBAGO ROAM BATHROOM
The bathroom in the Winnebago Roam includes an assist/transfer bar when you include the wheelchair lift. You will also find an integrated shower, privacy curtain, removable clothes rod, a swiveling cassette toilet and a tissue holder.
WINNEBAGO ROAM ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
To power the Roam you have (2) deep-cycle Group 31 batteries that are AGM and maintenance-free. Also included is a 3,000-watt inverter and an automatic dual-battery charge controller. The Roam includes a 30-amp power cord.
WINNEBAGO ROAM HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM
The Winnebago Roam has the Elwell Timberline hydronic heating and hot water system that includes an LED touchscreen control panel. The Roam also includes a 13,500 BTU air conditioner with directional ducts and a dial control.
WINNEBAGO ROAM PLUMBING SYSTEM
The Roam includes an easy-to-use water center control panel that includes all control valves, connection points and an exterior water station. This is located inside the coach to keep it warm and help extend your camping season. The Roam also includes a heated drainage system.
