The 2020 Winnebago View and Navion feature optional Lithium Ion Smart Batteries from Xantrex which provide even more off-the-grid capabilities in the best-selling Class C diesel.

The lithium system in the Winnebago View enables your appliances to last longer, the charge time of the system to be shorter, the lifespan of your battery system to be longer compared to lead-based batteries, and the system is half the weight of typical lead-based batteries. In fact, a lithium battery’s lifespan runs from 3,000 cycles to 5,000 cycles while lead-based batteries run 300 – 800 cycles.
To operate the Xantrex Lithium Ion Smart Batteries, push the button on top of the battery or initiate a charge cycle. To initiate a charge cycle you must plug into shore power, run the batteries off a generator, start the vehicle, or charge the batteries off the solar panels. If you are wanting to check the voltage on the batteries – you can check the OnePlace panel, the solar charger, the inverter control panel, or download the Xantrex app from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store. In addition to checking the voltage on the app, users can check the battery temp to ensure they are running the batteries within suggested temperatures. The usable temperatures for the battery are -4° F – 131° F and the chargeable temperatures are 32° F – 113° F.
Users may wonder how they can maintain the battery charge when they are away from the RV. To maintain the battery charge, you can turn off the inverter and all loads and let the battery charge off solar. If you don’t have solar, you can turn off the batteries to prevent parasitic draws. If you are looking to put your RV into storage, you will want to charge the batteries to 80% before putting the RV away. For full storage information, please refer to the user’s manual.
